DiscoverChinaTEFL connects English teachers with schools across China. It was built on one rule: no listing goes up without salary, Z-visa sponsorship, and housing details visible before you apply.
What we do
Established in 2025, DiscoverChinaTEFL is a marketplace where schools, training centers, universities, and recruiters post English teaching positions, and teachers browse, apply, and message hiring teams directly — all in one place. Browsing and applying is completely free for teachers; schools pay a small fee to post.
Why transparency comes first
Teaching abroad involves real risk: contracts signed sight-unseen, salaries that shrink on arrival, visa promises that never materialize. Much of the TEFL job market runs on vague ads and information held back until you're already committed. We take the opposite approach — every listing must state the salary range, whether the employer sponsors the Z-visa, and what the housing arrangement is, before a single application is sent. Listings that turn out to be misleading can be reported and removed.
Who runs DiscoverChinaTEFL
Payne Blackstone is an American who has spent more than two years in China as a language learner, an English teacher, and the founder of DiscoverChinaTEFL. He built the platform, a no-commission job board, to help good teachers find good schools, with salary, Z-visa status, and document details shown clearly on every listing.
